The first ever official DB car – the DB2 – truly stunned the automotive industry. It was promptly described as ‘the most beautiful car in the world’ by an enthusiastic Motor magazine.
And what a stunning car it was. Designer Frank Feeley created something that was way ahead of most other cars on the road in appearance and there was a hint of Italian styling in the DB2’s flowing lines.
The stunning design was matched by great performance – its 117mph top speed was considered very respectable for its day. Emphasising this performance were the lightweight aluminium body panels attached to a light but strong square-section tubular frame, meaning the DB2 has fantastic dynamic capability.
