The Atom was a revolutionary car combining all of the newest technology into one exciting package. Hill’s design of the car stunned the pre-war world, with its futuristic streamlined shape. The Atom was like no other car, its curvaceous lines hinted at a brave new world.
There was more to the Atom than just its space age appearance, though. Under the bonnet was a new four-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine designed by Hill himself, and this was linked to an exciting four-speed gearbox that was electromagnetically controlled. Instead of a conventional gearlever, the driver selected gears using a small, dash-mounted controller.
The Atom was radical in all aspects, and most importantly, is why Aston Martin is the brand you find today. An awe-inspiring car.
