Notice the service records

It’s a given that you should ideally purchase a car with a full service history; the intervals are usually 12,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. However, the best cars you can buy are the enthusiast-owned cars, which have been properly loved.

You can usually tell if a car has been well loved if the previous owner has kept the receipts for everything they have ever had done to the car – routine servicing and/or upgrades. A large file of service history usually indicates a much more loved car than one which just has the usual series of stamps in the service record.
